A clarinet ligature and grasping ring device for use with a mounthpiece/reed assembly wherein the device includes a ligature unit having a reed clamp member and a pair of spring support members operatively joined together in a surrounding relationship with the mounthpiece member of the assembly by an elongated spring member, and a grasping ring unit fixedly secured to the mounthpiece member may be removed form the clarinet barrel member without disturbing the engagement between the ligature unit with the mounthpiece.
