Abstract A hanger mechanism may be used to hang an object such as a pipe from a corrugated roof member. The hanger mechanism has a pair of arcuate arms each rotatably connected by its inner end to a common element, the pair of arms being maintained at a defined relative angle to each other by a bias means. The defined angle is such that, when the mechanism is placed adjacent to one of the ridged elements of the roof member, the outer end of each arm is adapted to press against a respective one of the sloped sides of the ridged element. The mechanism may then be pushed such that the outer ends of the arms move up the sloped sides of the ridged element, the relative angle between the arms being thereby increased. Upon the outer ends of the arms encountering preformed apertures in the sloped sides of the ridged element, the bias means acts to force the outer ends into the apertures. A rotatable screw member extending through the common element is then rotated such that its one end is brought against the peak of the ridged element so as to hold the mechanism firmly on that ridged element.
