A hemostatic device for promoting the clotting of blood includes a gauze substrate, a clay material disposed on the gauze substrate, and also a polyol such as glycerol or the like disposed on the gauze substrate to bind the clay material. When the device is used to treat a bleeding wound, at least a portion of the clay material comes into contact with blood emanating from the wound to cause the clotting. A bandage that can be applied to a bleeding wound to promote the clotting of blood includes a flexible substrate and a gauze substrate mounted thereon. The gauze substrate includes a clay material and a polyol. A hemostatic sponge also includes a gauze substrate and a dispersion of hemostatic material and a polyol on a first surface of the substrate.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif hémostatique destiné à favoriser la coagulation du sang comprenant un substrat de gaze, un matériau argileux disposé sur le substrat de gaze, et également un polyol tel que le glycérol ou équivalent disposé sur le substrat de gaze, destiné à lier le matériau argileux. Lorsque le dispositif est utilisé pour traiter une blessure en train de saigner, au moins une partie du matériau argileux se retrouve au contact du sang coulant de la blessure afin de provoquer la coagulation. L'invention concerne également un bandage qui peut être appliqué à la blessure en train de saigner afin de favoriser la coagulation du sang et comprenant un substrat flexible et un substrat de gaze monté dessus. Le substrat de gaze comprend un matériau argileux et un polyol. L'invention concerne en outre une éponge hémostatique comprenant également un substrat de gaze et une dispersion de matériau hémostatique et d'un polyol sur une première surface du substrat.
