A two part joint compound which sets by hydration of calcium sulfate hemihydrate to gypsum and is clay-free. One part includes an in-situ acidic acrylate copolymer thickener (i.e., an associative thickener) with the calcium sulfate hemihydrate, along with a non-calcium bearing phosphate set preventer. The first part contains water, but remains unset for at least 175 days. The second part includes a set initiator compound having a cation with a log K value greater than calcium ions. The second part is mixed with the first part when setting is desired.
L'invention concerne une pâte à joints à deux parties et à prise par hydration du semi-hydrate de sulfate de calcium en gypse et sans argile. Une partie comprend un agent épaississant de copolymère d'acrylate acidique in-situ (c.-à-d., un agent épaississant associatif) avec le semi- hydrate de sulfate de calcium sulfate, ainsi qu'un agent obturateur de prise ne portant pas de calcium. La première partie contient de l'eau, mais demeure liquide pendant au moins 175 jours. La seconde partiecomprend un composéinitiateur de prise ayant un cation avec une valeur K supérieure à celle des ions de calcium.
