ABSTRACT CLAY GUN FOR A MACHINE FOR PLUGGING THE TAP-HOLES OF A SHAFT FURNACE The gun comprises a hydraulic jack for actuating a piston (16) sliding in a clay chamber (12) fixed in the extension of the jack. The piston (16) is provided with one or more closed annular peripheral segments (18) having a flat cross-section and whose axial length is considerably greater than the radial thickness. Figure 1.
