ABSTRACT This invention is directed to a cleansing agent which can be prepared from readily commercially available materials such as saccharides, an alkaline earth metal compound and an alkli metal compound. The cleaning agent functions well in both cold and warm water. Further, the cleaning agent need have no compounds or phos- phorus to function well in both cold and warm water.
