Cleaning device to clean a roll, e.g., a concrete or granite roll, in a paper machine. The cleaning device may include a spray unit that may include a high-pressure spray device having an operational pressure of at least approximately 10 bar to spray a surface of the roll with a cleaning agent and a device to remove the cleaning agent from the roll surface.
