The cleaning head is connected to the manipulator of an automatic cleaning device via a connecting device so that it has a non-positive fit. Upon impact of the cleaning head, this connecting device permits a relative movement between an interior assembly carrying cleaning elements such as brushes, and the housing, when a predetermined elastic force is exceeded. The deviation is detected by sensors and used as a control signal for the drive device. A parallel guide arrangement prevents the cleaning head from tilting.
