-8- ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cleaning verification probe for inspecting the interior diameter of tubes to determine the location and quality of cleaned areas. A probe body is provided with a light emitting device and a photo-conductive device sensitive to contrast and color changes. The light emitting device and photo-conductor are mounted at intersecting angles such that only reflected light from the inner surface of the tube is received by the photo- conductor. Electrical signals from the photo-conductor correspond to the reflected light received to provide a qualitative determination of the cleaning and oxide layer removal within the tube. An eddy current coil on the probe body is used to determine the position of the probe body relative to tube support structures.
