The pad comprises high-sorbency, liquid sorbent fibers capable of forming a hydrogelatinous outer surface by sorption of liquid and thermally bondable binder fibers. The cleansing pad is substantially free of supplemental lubricant and is integrally self-lubricating when wet with water.
