A process for preparing a diol soluble antiperspirant active comprises reacting an antiperspirant compound with a water soluble, normally liquid diol in a water solution. The compound is heated for about 1 to about 100 hours at a temperature of about 50°C to about 110°C. Zinc glycinate is added to the reaction mixture and the water is removed to recover a powdered antiperspirant active.
