An improved aqueous cathodic electrocoating composition having a binder of an epoxy-amine adduct which is an epoxy resin that has been reacted with an amine, a blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent and an organic or inorganic acid as the neutralizing agent for the epoxy amine adduct; where the improvement is a catalyst of an alkyl tin oxide that has been dissolved with an organic or inorganic acid to provide a clear cathodic electrocoating composition.

L'invention concerne une composition aqueuse améliorée pour revêtement électrolytique cathodique comprenant un liant constitué d'un adduit d'époxy-amine qui est une résine époxy ayant réagi avec une amine, un agent de réticulation de polyisocyanate bloqué et un acide organique ou inorganique comme agent de neutralisation de l'adduit d'époxy-amine. L'amélioration consiste en un catalyseur d'un oxyde d'étain alkyle dissout dans de l'acide organique ou inorganique afin d'obtenir une composition claire pour revêtement électrolytique cathodique.
