A clear span roof system where the roof includes at least one level of panels arranged in a horizontal arrangement, the panels being selected from a trapezoidal or triangular or trigonal shape panels each of the panels includes fasteners for connection between adjacent panels and further the panels are arranged such that there is at least two axes of symmetry. A structure including a clear span roof and an underlying building is disclosed. The arrangement of panels permits the same to be flat and prefabricated for assembly on site and further the choice of geometry for the panels significantly reduces waste to therefore provide an inexpensive clear span roof arrangement.
