The climbing aid has a supporting layer (8), which on one side has an adhesive layer (4), with which the climbing aid can be fastened on a piece of snow sports equipment (2) in a self-adhesive and detachable manner. The adhesive layer (4) has an elastomeric polymer (5) as a base, in which nanoparticles (6) are reactively incorporated to determine the form of the adhesive layer (4). The elastomeric polymer is, in particular, a silicone. The adhesive layer (4) does not form an adhesive substance, but a polymer coating with a self-adhesive effect. It is resistant over a very great temperature range and has good weathering, UV and ageing resistance.
