ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pencil sharpener is disclosed which is provided with a clip means for securement of the sharpener to various objects and in particular to the housing of an existing measuring tape to provide an inexpensive replacement part for the clip used on the housing. In another embodiment, the sharpener is provided with a flat tab which can be clamped between an existing clip and the housing of the tape.
