A catalytic converter device for use with a device such as an oven is provided. The device includes a catalyst-coated ceramic substrate and a mounting ring. The mounting ring secures the substrate and is engageable with a surface of a vent of the oven to secure the catalytic converter within an orifice of the vent such that gases flowing through the vent will pass through apertures in the substrate. The mounting ring includes a body in the shape of a ring, one or more retaining tabs extending from the body which secure the substrate within the ring about the circumferential surface of the substrate, and one or more locking tabs extending from the body. The locking tabs allow the mounting ring to be slid or snapped into place in the vent orifice, thereby eliminating the need to secure the catalytic converter device using screws.

Cette invention concerne un dispositif de type convertisseur catalytique qui s'utilise par exemple avec un four. Ce dispositif comprend un substrat céramique recouvert d'un catalyseur et un anneau de montage. Cet anneau, qui permet de fixer le substrat, s'engage dans une surface d'évent d'un four et assure le montage du convertisseur catalytique dans un trou de l'évent de telle sorte que les gaz s'écoulant par cet évent traversent des ouvertures dans le substrat. L'anneau de montage comprend un corps de forme annulaire, un ou plusieurs ergots partant du corps qui assurent la fixation du substrat dans l'anneau au niveau de sa surface périphérique, et un ou plusieurs onglets de verrouillage partant du corps. Grâce à ces onglets de verrouillage, la bague de montage peut glisser dans le trou d'évent et se mettre en place par effet de ressort, ce qui rend superflu l'emploi de vis pour le montage du convertisseur catalytique.
