Clip removal is efficiently effected in a construction wherein as a technique for attaching a backplane connector to a backplane with a desired amount of movement, a clip having a pair of elastic pawls projecting therefrom is used to engage the backplane connector through a hole in the backplane. A clip removing tool (50) having disengaging pieces (52a, 52b) wherein a pair of elastic pawls (29b) engaged by engaging portions (34) on opposite sides opposed to a BH housing (26) through an attaching hole (31) in a backplane (23) are pressed, with the result that these elastic pawls can be disengaged by the disengaging pieces; and a clip removing method.
