A clipped together headlamp assembly may be rapidly and accurately assembled from a reflector, a lamp capsule, a retainer and a boot. The rear of the reflector is designed to receive a clip on retainer forming therebetween a socket to receive the lamp capsule. Aligning keys assure proper positioning of the retainer. Extending radially from the reflector portion of the coupling is a rim sealed to a flexible boot. The radially extending rim can be inserted in the flexible boot to form a water resistant seal. The clipped together headlamp assembly yields a rapidly sealed, water resistant lamp retainer without screws.
