A clip design is disclosed that includes a body, two legs extending from the body adapted to receive a portion of a utensil, and a means for securing the clip to a bowl. The clip may, alternatively, have three legs such that it is adapted to receive a portion of a pair of tongs. A utensil holder including a pedestal attached to a resting portion is also disclosed. The resting portion has a utensil receiving portion extending therefrom which can be adapted to receive various utensils and tongs. The clips and utensil holders can be used to hold utensils in a food service environment, such as a buffet.
