ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A closable pouch having zipper for sealingly closing an opening of the pouch. The pouch has a confronting front and rear sheets heat sealed together at four side edge portions. The zipper is provided at an inner surface of the front and rear sheets and extends in parallel with the upper heat sealed edge portion. Further, a surface roughening zone is formed at the front and rear sheets. The surface roughening zone is positioned between the upper heat sealed edge portion and the zipper, and extends in parallel therewith from one side to another side heat sealed edge portions. The surface roughened zone provides mechanical strength lower than the non-roughned zone of the sheets. Therefore, the pouch is easily tearable along the surface roughening zone.
