CLOSE-COUPLED PISTON CYLINDER MANIFOLD BLOCK ASSEMBLY ABSTRACT A piston cylinder has access openings located proximate its end through which pressurized fluid is introduced into and exhausted from the cylinder. A manifold block has a cavity defined in it which receives the end of the piston cylinder with the access openings being located within the cavity. Fasteners releasably attach the piston cylinder to the manifold block when it is located in the cavity. The manifold block has pass- ageways defined in to which are aligned with the access opening in the piston cylinder so that operating fluid can pass through the manifold block into the piston cylinder. Thus, there is no exposed fluid lines extending to the cylinder. A control module located in the manifold block communicates with the passageways to permit operation of the piston cylinder.
