ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A closed loop mixture control system for an internal combustion engine-comprising an exhaust gas sensor provided in the exhaust system of the engine for generating a signal representative of the deviation of the air-fuel ratio within the exhaust system from a reference level representing a desired air-fuel ratio, a main air intake passage having a venturi for supplying air to the engine, an auxiliary air intake passage leading to said venturi, means for varying the amount of air passing through said auxiliary air intake passage in response to the deviation representative signal to control the mixture at said desired air fuel ratio, and means provided in said auxiliary air passage for increasing the amount of air passing therethrough as an inverse function of the atmospheric pressure, said means for increasing the air supplied through said auxiliary air passage comprising a bellows which extends with decrease in atmospheric pressure, and means operatively connected to said bellows to progressively increase the amount of air passing through said auxiliary air passage.
