A kit of parts for a closet storage system includes a plurality of poles, and a plurality of fitments. Each fitment has a first end, an opposed second end, and a fitting section pre-connected to each of the ends. The kit of parts further includes a plurality of fitting sections not pre-connected to any of the fitments, and a plurality of nuts. Each of the fitting sections has a body defining a generally half cylindrical surface, a first longitudinally split bolt protruding from one side of the body and a second longitudinally split bolt protruding from a second side of the body. Any two of the fitting sections may be placed with their split bolts adjacent each other forming complete bolts and a pole within their half cylindrical surfaces. The nuts are sized to thread onto the complete bolts.
