ABSTRACT A closure arrangement for the bottom nozzle of ladles and similar containers containing metal melts is disclosed. A cantilever slide gate is provided which is swingably movable parallel relative to the plane of the bottom of said ladle and which closes from the outside an outlet opening provided at the bottom of said ladle. A movable, kidney-shaped refractory sliding member is pressed against a kidney-shaped refractory closing member by means of forces which are exerted directly by the cantilever, kidney-shaped swivel frame. The closing member is arranged in a kidney-shaped drawing-off plate and serves, on the one hand, as a refractory head plate and, on the other hand, together with the upper portion of the bottom block, assumes the function of the inner sleeve.
