The closure device (121) includes interlocking fastening strips (130, 131) and a slide (132). The ends (127, 128) of the fastening strips (130, 131) are heat sealed, melted or otherwise secured together. The fastening strips (130, 131) include a slit (183) near the end (127) of the fastening strips (130, 131). The slit (183) prevents the separator (143) of the slider (132) from deoccluding the fastening strips (130, 131) when the slider (132) is at the occluded end (127). The slit (183) allows the top edge (117) of the fastening strips (130, 131) to bend around the separator (143) while the fastening strips (130, 131) remain occluded.
