ABSTRACT The closure has two long, thin sealing lips having a greater height than their reciprocal spacing Thus, on fitting to the opening of the container they are bent upwards without any great force being exerted. The tip of the lower sealing lip extends into an area formed on two sides by the bottom of sealing lip before and after its bending, as well as by the opening of the container. If gas pressure occurs, the upper sealing lip is bent more strongly, so that it rests on the tip of the lower sealing lip and is supported by the latter. As a result of this construction, a completely satisfactory seal is obtained, without a great amount of force having to be exerted on screwing down and more particularly on unscrewing.
