A closure and thin-walled container wherein both the closure and neck of the container have a multi-lead thread construction. The closure includes a resilient gasket having a generally flat annular surface sized and positioned to cooperate with a generally flat annular end surface on therewith. The generally flat outer annular surface of the gasket extends into an inwardly and downwardly inclined surface which is sized and positioned to engage an inner edge of the annular end surface of the container to resist mouth distorting forces produced by the mating engagement of the end portions of the multi-lead threads on the closure and container neck.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de fermeture (10) destiné à un récipient à parois minces (17), le dispositif et le goulot (18) du récipient étant munis d'un filetage à filets multiples (15, 16, 19, 20). Le dispositif de fermeture comprend un joint élastique (13) possédant une surface annulaire globalement plane (25) dont la taille et la disposition permettent au joint de coopérer avec une surface d'extrémité annulaire globalement plane (26) située sur le goulot du récipient. La surface annulaire externe globalement plane du joint se prolonge vers l'intérieur pour former une surface inclinée vers l'intérieur et vers le bas (27), les dimensions et la disposition de cette surface permettent au joint d'entrer en prise avec un bord interne (24) de la surface d'extrémité annulaire du récipient. Ce dispositif résiste aux forces de déformation exercées sur l'embouchure lorsque les filets multiples du dispositif de fermeture et du goulot entrent en prise.
