A lid (10) for a container (12) including a closure surface (24), a circumferential rim (26) extending about the periphery of the closure surface (24) with the rim (26) including an outer side wall (28), an inner side wall (30), and a transition wall (32) interconnecting the outer side wall (28) and the inner side wall (30) with the closure surface (24) extending from the inner side wall (30) and at least one cut out (34) formed in at least one of the inner side wall, the outer side wall, and the transition wall such that a portion of a brim (18) of the container (12) is visible through the cut out (34) when the lid (10) is properly positioned on the container (12). A method and apparatus for forming the lid (10) includes a planar blank, a die, conforming the blank to the die, and forming at least one cut out (34) in the rim (26) of the lid (10).
L'invention concerne un couvercle (10) de récipient (12) comprenant une surface (24) de fermeture et un rebord (26) périphérique s'étendant sur le pourtour de la surface (24) de fermeture.
