Abstract of the Disclosure A "childproof" closure for a container comprises a contained and a cap. The cap includes a central plug which fits into an opening to the upper wall of the container. The plug is stepped so as to prevent lifting the cap from the container. The container is opened by pressing down on the cap to release the plug from a seat and the cap is slid normal to the axis of the container. Sliding of the cap is possible only when opposed flat surfaces of the plug are aligned with a slot in the upper surface of the container.
