A clothesline support for mounting a clothesline onto a supporting surface is described. The clothesline support comprises a mounting base for mounting the clothesline support onto a supporting surface, such as a wall or a balcony, a line bracket for connection to a plurality of lengths of clotheslines and pivot means mounting the line bracket onto the mounting base for pivotal movement between an in-use position projecting from the support surface and a stored position extending along the supporting surface. The clothesline support is therefore arranged to be mounted onto a support structure such that when the line bracket is in thestored position, the clotheslines hang slack whereas the clotheslines are taut when the line brackets are in the in-use position.
