ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The specification describes a clothing for the sheet forming section of a papermaking machine comprising a double-layer or multi-layer fabric of interwoven longi- tudinal and transverse threads and additional transverse threads floating on the paper supporting side. The addi- tional transverse threads are interwoven in a plane disposed below the plane formed by the transverse threads of the paper supporting side. The additional transverse threads preferably have a smaller diameter than the ordi- nary transverse threads.
