CLUTCH/BRAKE MECHANISM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: There is disclosed a clutch/brake mechanism of the "disc" type wherein the co-acting friction producing members are of unique sectional configurations; whereby the frictional interaction thereof is initially concentrated adjacent the operating peripheries thereof and progressively advances toward the hub portions thereof as the friction producing members gradually wear. Thus, the clutch/brake disc members operate at maximum mechanical advantage throughout their useful lives, while at all times also functioning to prevent entrance of external contaminants into the mechanism.
