ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A clutch mechanism is installed on a two- wheel drive bicycle to allow the cyclist to select one wheel drive or two-wheel drive operation. The bicycle comprises a rear wheel with an axis of rotation and a central hub rotatable about this axis, and at least one first sprocket mounted on the hub and rotated about the axis of rotation to drive the rear wheel. The clutch mechanism comprises (a) a second sprocket mounted freely rotatable on the hub about the axis of rotation, this second sprocket being connected to the front wheel through a chain to drive the latter wheel, and (b) a reversible mechanical connection between the first and second sprockets whereby upon driving the rear wheel rotational movement of the first sprocket is transmitted to the second sprocket to thereby drive the front wheel through the corresponding chain.
