A tray design for use in a separation column (2) for distilling or fractionating a feed stream is provided. Located on the trays (6) are a plurality of co-current vapor and liquid contacting sections (16). Also located on the trays are a plurality of de-entrainment devices (8) for separating entrained liquids from vapor stream, the de-entrainment devices having an inner (25) and an outer (27) side, the inner side (25) being adjacent to the co-current contacting sections. The tray design further incorporates a plurality of liquid downcomers (14), having an upper portion and a lower portion, where the upper portion is capable of accepting liquid from the outer side (27) of the de-entrainment device of a first tray, and the lower portion is located within the co-current contacting section of a second tray.
L'invention concerne un modèle de plateau destiné à être utilisé dans une colonne de séparation (2), afin de distiller ou de fractionner un courant d'alimentation. Ces plateaux (6) présentent plusieurs parties (16) agissant par contact cocourant de vapeur et de liquide. Ces plateaux présentent également plusieurs dispositifs de désentraînement (8), destinés à séparer des liquides entraînés d'un flux de vapeur, ces dispositifs de désentraînement étant pourvus d'un coté intérieur (25) et d'un coté extérieur (27), ledit coté intérieur (25) étant adjacent aux parties agissant par contact cocourant. Ce modèle de plateau comprend en outre plusieurs déversoirs (14) de liquide, présentant une partie supérieure et une partie inférieure, ladite partie supérieure étant capable de recevoir du liquide provenant dudit coté extérieur (27) du dispositif de désentraînement d'un premier plateau, ladite partie inférieure étant placée à l'intérieur de la partie agissant par contact cocourant d'un second plateau.
