COAL-OIL SLURRIES CONTAINING A SURFACTANT Abstract of the Disclosure Unwanted settling in a composition comprising a suspension of fine particles of coal in fuel oil is elimi- nated or substantially reduced by adding an effective amount of a polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene copolymer which corresponds to the formula: Image in which the values of X1, X2, X3 and X4 may be the same or different, Y1, Y2, Y3 and Y4 may be the same or different, Y1+Y2+Y3+Y4 give a total oxyethylene content of the molecule of from about 10 to 80 weight percent and X1, X2, X3 and X4 have values such that the total molecular weight of the molecule is from about 1500 to 30,000.
