A process is disclosed for application of a polymer coating on a granular or shaped activated carbon to essentially eliminate or to significantly reduce product attrition by dusting without a reduction in adsorption velocity or capacity of the activated carbon. After the polymer coating has dried, any residual carbon dust is removed. New products resulting from the disclosed process also are disclosed.
