This invention relates to a coated fabric (1) and a method of making the same, and laminates and articles comprising the coated fabric (1). The fabric (1) comprises a woven substrate (2) having fiber volume fraction of at least 70 percent and non-meltable,, rigid rod, high strength filaments having angular cross sections created by densifying the woven substrate (2). The coated fabrics (1) and laminates are especially useful in rigid armor applications.

Cette invention concerne un tissu enduit (1) et son procédé de réalisation, ainsi que des stratifiés et articles comprenant le tissu enduit (1). Le tissu (1) comprend un substrat tissé (2) présentant une fraction de volume de fibres d'au moins 70 pour cent et des filaments hautement résistants, à tige rigide, non fusibles présentant des sections transversales angulaires créées par la densification du substrat tissé (2).
