A friction pad for a brake assembly is disclosed. The pad comprises a friction material having a surface adapted for contact with a brake component such as a rotor or drum. The surface has a coating thereon, which comprises abrasive particles having a Mohs hardness of 5.5 to 7.5 and abrasive particles having a Mohs hardness of 8.0 to 9.5.

Cette plaquette comporte un matériau de frottement doté d'une surface conçue pour entrer en contact avec un composant du frein du type rotor ou tambour. Cette surface est enduite d'un mélange de particules abrasives ayant pour certaines un coefficient de dureté dans l'échelle de Mohs compris entre 5,5 et 7,5 et pour les autres un coefficient de dureté dans l'échelle de Mohs compris entre 8,0 et 9,5.
