A metal fastener, suitable for use in wood construction and coated with a polymeric residue produced by removing water from an aqueous dispersion of a film-forming, thermoplastic, predominately aliphatic polyurethane resin, thereby to reduce penetration force, increase withdrawal force, and protect against corrosion. Before the polyurethane coating is applied, a zinc layer is applied so as to coat the fastener, and a chromate conversion layer is applied so as to coat the zinc layer.
Élément de fixation métallique, utile pour la construction en bois; il est revêtu d'un résidu polymérique obtenu par élimination de l'eau d'une dispersion aqueuse de résine de polyuréthane thermoplastique, principalement aliphatique, formant une pellicule; on réduit ainsi la force de pénétration, on augmente la résistance à la traction et on protège contre la corrosion. Avant d'appliquer le revêtement de polyuréthane, on applique une couche de zinc de façon à couvrir l'élément de fixation; enfin, une couche de conversion de chromate est appliquée par dessus la couche de zinc.
