The present invention provides a metal substrate coated with a first pretreatment composition including a transition element-containing material having one or more Group IVB elements. Group IVB elements, lanthanide series elements or mixtures thereof: and a second pretreatment composition including a reaction product of at least one epoxy-functional material or derivative thereof and at least phosphorus-containing, material, amine-containing material and/or sulfur-containing material deposited upon the first pretreatment composition. If desired, the first and second pretreatment compositions can be combined into a single pretreatment.

L'invention concerne un substrat métallique revêtu d'une première composition de prétraitement comprenant une matière contenant un élément de transition ayant au moins un élément du groupe IIIB, du groupe IVB, de la série des lanthanides ou des mélanges de ces derniers; et, déposée sur cette première composition, une seconde composition de prétraitement renfermant un produit de réaction d'au moins une matière à fonction époxy ou un dérivé de celle-ci et au moins une matière phosphorée, une matière contenant des amines et/ou une matière contenant du soufre. On peut, si on le souhaite, combiner en un seul prétraitement ces deux compositions.
