Abstract The invention relates to the heat welding of poly- olefinic film, particularly polylpropylene, in the production of packaging. Polyolefinic films are difficult to heat weld since they tend to stick to the heated welding bars. This problems is mitigated by coating the polyolefinic film with a two-layer coating, the first layer comprising an amine compound and the second layer comprising a three-component mixture of an epoxy resin, a vinyl or vinylidene polymer or copolymer and 0.5 - 5% by weight of a microcrystalline wax. Carnauba wax is particularly preferred.
