ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A substrate is coated with a polyvinylpyrollidone- polyurethane interpolymer. In the method, a polyisocyanate and a polyurethane in a solvent such as methyl ethyl ketone are applied to a substrate and the solvent evaporated. If the substrate is a polyurethane, only the polyisocyanate need be employed. Polyvinylpyrollidone in a solvent is then applied to the treated substrate and the solvent evaporated The invention is applied, for example, to a tube such as a catheter, a condom and a peristaltic pump tube.
