Coated supports with ultra-thin, single-layer or multi- layer coating, process for their production and polyurethanes as intermediates for the coated supports Abstract Coated supports with ultra-thin, single-layer or multi- layer coating of organic polymer material have been found, in which, as polymer, polyurethanes of the structure Image (I) are used in which A is the skeleton of an aliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic diol, B is the skeleton of an aliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic diisocyanate, n assumes values from 2 to 150 and at least one of the substituents R1 to R4 represents an essentially normal-chain aliphatic radical and the others in each case denote hydrogen, the aliphatic radical having at least 4 carbon atoms and the number of carbon atoms from the terminal methyl group of the aliphatic radical via the skeleton A or B up to the urethane linkage being 6 to 40, and it being further possible for R1 and R2 jointly to form an alkylene chain and for R3 and R4 jointly to form an alkylene chain. Coated supports of this type may be produced by the Langmuir-Blodgett technique. The polyurethanes mentioned are novel intermediates for these coated supports.
