Lubricant is applied to the rolls of the size press to lubricate the rolls prior to moving the coating heads into their coating position by substantially simultaneously applying a lubricating film to each of the rolls of the size press in stripes symmetrically positioned relative to the center line of the web passing through the size press in stages symmetrically relative to the axis of the web substantially equally increase the surface area of the roll to which the lubricating film is applied until the full surface corresponding to the full width of the web on each of the rolls is lubricated and then a metering rod type coating head apply coating to each of the size press rolls are simultaneously moved into coating position.
La présente invention consiste à appliquer sur les cylindres de la presse encolleuse un lubrifiant permettant de lubrifier les cylindres avant d'amener les têtes de distribution en position de couchage. Le procédé consiste à appliquer sensiblement simultanément un film lubrifiant sur chacun des cylindres de la presse encolleuse, ce film se présentant sous forme de bandes symétriques par rapport à l'axe médian de la bande de papier défilant dans la presse encolleuse. Cela permet d'étendre de façon sensiblement régulière la superficie d'application du film lubrifiant sur les cylindres, par plages symétriques à l'axe médian de la bande. Le procédé se poursuit jusqu'à ce que le film lubrifiant recouvre toute la surface, c'est à dire toute la largeur de la bande de papier, sur chaque cylindre. Les têtes de distribution, du type à réglette de calibrage, viennent ensuite simultanément en position de couchage pour appliquer le produit de couchage sur chaque cylindre de la presse encolleuse.
