ABSTRACT A composition for coating and impregnating open-structured thermoplastic sheet material, the composition comprising a chemically cross-linked product of a) a 50% aqueous dispersion of a thermally cross-linkable copolymer of acrylic acid esters and styrol produced with acrylonitrile and having a glass transition temperature of +31°C; b) a 50% aqueous colloidal dispersion of a polymer mixture of either 2-chlorbutadiene and acrylic acid or butadiene, acrylonitrile and methacrylic acid, having a glass transition temperature of -30°C. The composition has a short drying time, and provides for the production of storable blanks, which may be processed through pressure molding into formed parts having stiff but elastic and thermally stable compressed zones. Production cost is lowered because no safety precautions and disposal measures are required for the aqueous solutions.
