Abstract of the disclosure The invention concerns a coating composition comprising (A) an acrylic resin having a glass transition point of -30°C 20°C and a hydroxyl value of 100 300, (B) a lower-alcohol-, modified melamine resin having a mononuclear content of 40% or more and an etherification degree of 4 or more and an acid catalyst, the ratio of (A)/(B) being 80/20 40/60 in terms of solid weight ratio and the content of (C) being 0.2 3% by weight of the total solid of the composition. The present coating composition is specifically useful as a top coat for automobile bodies and the like.
