The invention provides coating compositions comprising a reactive component (a) which is substantially free of any heteratoms and is a not a crystalline solid at room temperature and which comprises from (i) 12 to 72 carbon atoms, and (ii) at least two functional groups, and (b) a crosslinking agent comprising a plurality of functional groups (iii) reactive with the functional groups (ii) of compound (a), wherein functional groups (ii) and (iii) are selected such that reaction there between produces a thermally irreversible chemical linkage. The coating compositions of the invention provide improved solids, chip resistance, flexibility and/or scratch & mar resistance while maintaining desirable and/or improved performance characteristics with regard to environmental etch, relative humidity, QCT, chip resistance, thermoshock resistance, cold crack resistance, adhesion and the like.
La présente invention concerne des compositions de revêtement . Ces dernières comprennent un composant réactif (a) qui est sensiblement dépourvu d'hétératomes et n'est pas un solide cristallin à température ambiante et comprend (i) entre 12 et 72 atomes de carbone et (ii) au moins deux groupes fonctionnels. Ces compositions comprennent également (b) un agent de réticulation comprenant plusieurs groupes fonctionnels (iii) réactifs avec les groupes fonctionnels (ii) du composé (a). Ces groupes fonctionnels (ii) et (iii) sont sélectionnés de telle sorte que la réaction entre eux produit une liaison chimique thermiquement irréversible. Ces compositions de revêtement offrent une résistance aux solides améliorée, ne s'ébrèchent pas, présentent une meilleure flexibilité et/ou une meilleure résistance aux rayures et à l'environnement marin. En outre, elles conservent des caractéristiques de performance requises et/ou améliorées en ce qui concerne l'attaque par l'environnement, l'humidité relative, la résistance au test QCT, la résistance aux rayures, aux chocs thermiques, aux fissures à froid, l'adhérence et similaire.
