ABSTRACT Metal strip such as steel is coated on one side with molten metal such as zinc by passing the strip through a hood above a bath of molten metal. A scoop roller is partially immersed in the bath and cooperates with a supporting roller to define a nip through which the strip is continuously fed. The surface of the strip is coated by molten metal carried from the bath on the scoop roller.
