An article is produced from a mold such that it includes a barrier so as to prevent a coating composition applied thereto while it remains in the mold from flowing into a gate pin assembly or substrate injection inlet area of the mold. The barrier prevents cross contamination between the coating composition and resin contained in the inlet area.
