Disclosed is an epoxy resin-free coaling composition based on a thermoplastic polyester. The coaling composition contains a ketone or aldehyde resin as a specific additive resin incorporated for promoting adhesion. The ketone or aldehyde resin is for example a ketone-formaldehyde condensation product or a hydrogenation product of the condensation product and is contained in an amount of 0.1 to 15 parts by weight relative to 99.1 to 85 parts by weight of the thermoplastic polyester.
